Happy Thanksgiving!

I have a lot to be thankful for. Last week I was in Chicago, and I had such a wonderful time of refreshment with Ash and Samih. Good friends are hard to come by; meeting them while on the road makes it so much better. This week I'm home for Thanksgiving. I'm enjoying the time taking the kids to school each morning, and having breakfast with them. The one downer is that we've been having snow for over a week. Not enough snow to have fun with, but certainly enough to make driving an adventure. I can't wait to get to North Carolina next week. Hopefully it's warmer there!

War Eagle

This week I've been in Los Angeles. Having called it home for six years, I am not gripped with the same level of curiosity. So I used the time to catch up on some long overdue homework. Instead, I offer you pictures of our trip to War Eagle Cavern and War Eagle Mill. Last week, Basma met me in Arkansas for a couple of days. As we drove around on Saturday, we found these lovely stops. I hope you enjoy the photos! http://picasaweb.google.com/khalaf.writes/WarEagle

Problem was, a hawk was after that same chipmunk. Right in front of us, the hawk buzzed the cat and the chipmunk. I ran for the camera and got these pictures: http://picasaweb.google.com/khalaf.writes/TheHawk October 27-28, 2008: Two-day trip to Oak Brook, IL - No great pictures; just a wonderful dinner with Ash and Samih that Monday night.
